Application and use
The novel adhesive 82S is a permanent, water-activatable adhesive. It has been specially developed for applications on cardboard and comparable paper-like substrates. It is therfore particularly suitable for use in the logistics sector, e.g. as a shipping label and for marking on absorbent substrates.
In combination with suitable dispensing equipment, typical labelling speeds of the print-and-apply sector can be achieved.
Processing
Can be processed on common printing and slitting machines.
Pre-tests should be carried out for water-based primers.
Storage conditions and shelf life
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.
Regulations concerning contact with food
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 82S can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry and fatty foodstuffs in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011. Furthermore, it may be used in direct contact with moist foodstuffs is permitted, provided that the ratio of the contact surface of the label related to the total weight of the food does not exceed 1 dm²/kg.
