Application and use

The adhesive 72Hpw was developed for applications where the label has to be removed in warm caustic water (80 °C and 1-2% NaOH).
72Hpw was specially developed for PET bottles, e.g. for the beverage, detergents, cosmetics and personal care, which can be recycled in standard industrial recycling plants. When the PET bottles are introduced into the recycling process, the label with adhesive is removed from the PET without leaving any residue so that the PET can be recycled cleanly.

Certification of Recycling Compatibility
The adhesive 72Hpw is certified by the institute cyclos-HTP to have no negative effects on the recycling path for transparent PET bottles according to the requirements and assessment catalogue*. This certification is valid for the following combinations:

Storage conditions and shelf life

Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided.

Regulations concerning contact with food

The pressure-sensitive adhesive 72Hpw can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs that can be assigned a correction factor of at least 2 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011.
